ImageAntec, Inc., the leading manufacturer of high end performance computer cases and computer accessories for do it yourself upgrades has released a new edition to their already popular Performance One series of cases, the P182. Antec has gone one step further and has added new features to the current P180 case to create the new P182. Featuring smooth gun metal finish and a improved cooling system has increased the appeal of this already impressive feature list of the Performance One series.

Water cooling enthusiasts will be pleased to know Antec has now fitted grommeted water pipe holes for external water cooling setups. Fan cooling has been ramped up with the provided three TriCool 120mm fans to maintain a quiet but effective cooling system. Optional fans can still be added to improve cooling further around graphics cards. In addition, Antec has also added a set of external fan controllers for the top and rear fans to conveniently adjust fan speeds inside the case.

ImageThe P182 is made for the complete system builder in mind so that a entirely custom system can be built. Antec has finished the P182 with a new gun metal black colour to give a modern but stylish look. Practicality has not been sacrificed to create such brilliant case with elements like improved cable management and simple cable routing improves cooling and increases visual appeal. Including a separate chamber for any desktop power supply and eleven drive bays, allows the system builder to choose from a wide variety of drives. 270 degrees opening of the double hinged doors provides convenient access to the internal components, supporting up to ATX standard motherboards.

Even running at high fan speeds the P182 employs special features for near silent computer operation. Three-layer side panels and a front door constructed of aluminium and plastic reduces system-generated noise and makes it one of the quietest operating cases available on the market.  Separating the power supply in its own chamber decreases systems noise and more effective cooling at a lower fan speed.

“As part of Antec’s ongoing practice of listening to our customers it became apparent that the P180 could be improved upon.  With the feedback we were given we were able to offer these improvements quickly and at no change in price,” said Scott Richards, senior vice president for Antec. “P182 continues Antec’s commitment to silent computing and to our customers, by providing improved cooling features and making it easier to use liquid cooling systems.  This makes the P182 the new standard in performance case.
