The redeveloped Starcraft, with a custom 3d-graphics engine, will bring back the three races from the original; The Terran, Zerg, and Protos will all make a dramtic re-entry with all new 3D units, and vast differences between the 3 races, extending far beyond the look of the units. Each race will show a distinct difference from the last, with all new gameplay mechanics, and new abilities for the classic units that will make a re-appearance in the game. "With StarCraft II, we'll be able to do everything we wanted to do with the original StarCraft and more," stated Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We recognize that expectations are high following the long-running popularity of the original game, but we plan to meet those expectations and deliver an engaging, action-packed, competitive experience that StarCraft players and strategy gamers worldwide will enjoy."Starcraft II will incorporate a unique single-player campaign game as well as an upgraded version of Blizzards renowned online system Battle.net. Together with the game, like the original, is the exact map editor that is used by the blizzard game developers. Blizzard is preparing for a synchronous release between the both the Microsoft Windows and the Macintosh PC Platforms. Further information about the game, including details on the single-player, multiplayer, and map-editor features, as well as system requirements, pricing, and availability, will be announced in the months ahead.
